Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation Review

 Estee Lauder Double Wear

Hey everybody here is a little post about Estee Lauder's 'Double Wear' Foundation. Now if, like me, you are constantly on the look out for your HG (Holy Grail) foundation, then this is worth a serious look at, and experiment with. Below is a picture of the packaging.

The packaging is quite nice, with the traditional gold effect Estee Lauder logo on display. There is one issue with this packaging, though, yes, uh-oh . It is the fact that there is no pump! Everyone says this about this foundation and it is true. You end up pouring out way too much product, and instead of wasting it, you pile it all on and there you have it, a caked up face! Not nice. Something needs to be done! At £26.50 a bottle,http://www.esteelauder.co.uk/templates/product/spp.tmpl?CATEGORY_ID=CAT21700&PRODUCT_ID=PROD1063 this stuff is like liquid gold! Yes there are more expensive brands out there, but foundation is something alot of us use everyday so we cannot afford to waste any.
Rant over! Onto the review itself.

The foundation dispenses quite quickly onto the hand and is a beautiful creamy consistency. The first thing i will say is to not use too much product. The foundation is absolutely beautiful but when too much is applied, I think it has a tendency to look very artificial indeed and i do believe it will emphasise pores, any of those little hairs we get sometimes above our lips. The best way to use this foundation would probably be to use a foundation brush, i never liked the idea of sponges as they seem to soak up product and I hate waste.

I would recommend cleanse, toning and moisturising the face beforehand as this gives a nice base for the foundation to glide onto. The Body Shop are fantastic for all skincare needs and have fully trained customer service advisors to help with any problems you may have. You can pop in any day usually and have a free skincare consultation and feel the products on your face. That's gotta be worth a go, right?!

So after cleansing and toning the face it's always nice to use a primer to help your foundation last and to carry on with that smoothing out the skin business. I haven't tried that many primers, but i do like Benefit's 'Pore Perfector' http://www.boots.com/en/benefit-porefessional-primer-22ml_1143232/ as it is beautiful at smoothing out the skin. I would quite like to try out a primer that helps foundation last the day but i am yet to do so.

I would advise on applying this foundation in sections as it sort of 'sets' onto the face and once its set, its not very easy to work with. I would describe the coverage as medium to full, and it is very buildable, but again i think this looks best with only one layer!

So here is a picture of my skin without any makeup... eeek!

My skin isn't actually too bad, i mean with regards to blemishes and enlarged pores. What bugs me is that it has a habit of looking red and blotchy and that is something i have always hated. So when  looking for a foundation, i always look for something that will last throughout the day and keep that blotchiness away!

And here's a picture of me wearing Double Wear:

As you can see it evens out the skin brilliantly and when used lightly gives a beautiful satin finish, i find that tends to wear of during the day though, as it sets.
All in all, I think this is a lovely foundation, when applied correctly with the right tools!

Thanks for reading!
